The next meeting of the Anna Dymna Poetry and Music Salon will be devoted to the work of Julia Hartwig - a poet for whom the source of poetry was both everyday experiences, memory, nature, love or passing away. Her poems invite us to dwell on the seemingly ordinary and fleeting: an encounter with another person, a gesture, a memory, a moment of silence or a changing landscape. In Julia Hartwig's poetic world, admiration for life is intertwined with reflection on its fragility, and the simplicity of the word leads to questions of closeness, loneliness, time and memory.
Julia Hartwig's poems will be presented by Danuta Lewandowska and Jolanta Niestrój-Malisz, who is also the author of the meeting's script. The poetry will be accompanied by piano music performed by Sebastian Balcerzak. The young pianist, a high school student, will perform songs from his album “Miniatury pitepianowe”, released in June 2026. The compositions inspired by neoclassical and neo-romantic trends were created under the direction of Dr. Kamil Pawłowski. Together, the word and the music will create a space for meeting with Julia Hartwig's poetry full of focus, sensitivity and reflection.
During the meeting, coffee and sweet refreshments are provided by Społ PSS in Bytom.
The sponsor of the coffee during this event is the Manufaktura Capuchins.
The Salon of Poetry and Music was established in Bytom on the initiative of Anna Dymna, who visited the Silesian Opera in February 2006 /during a charity concert dedicated to tragic events in the hall of the Katowice International Fair in Chorzowie/ saw the Adam Didur Concert Hall and offered to realize for Bytomians periodic meetings with poetry. The Bytomski Salon is one of the branches of the Krakow Poetry Salon, which began operating in January 2002 at the J. Słowacki Theatre in Krakow. The Krakow Poetry Salon quickly became a valued and beloved event. Its success exceeded the wildest expectations of the organizers.
