Smile in the morning — a series at the Gdynia Film Centre — film screenings with humour, distance and good energy for the whole day!
After the screening, we invite you to relax classes with elements of self-massage led by Marysia Kiedrowicz. It is a space to calm down, breathe and gently enter the rest of the day — so that the morning smile stays with us for longer.
ABOUT THE FILM
The Pawlaks are preparing for the visit of Uncle Jasko from America and the baptism of their granddaughter. They try to hide that the mother of the child is Yadzka, the daughter of Kargul. The story of quarrels with neighbors over honey goes back generations and life on the fringes behind the Bug. Pawlak (Wacław Kowalski) tells his brother about the family's relocation from Krużewniki to the Recovered Lands and the spontaneous decision to live through the fence with the Karguli. The fiery Pawlak and the reserved Kargul (Władysław Hańcza) continue their dispute, while their wives live in neighborly harmony, and the children, Witia (Jan Janeczek) and Jadźka (Ilona Kuska) fall in love with each other.
ABOUT THE CYCLE
Modern cinema repertoire is increasingly focused on dynamic and intense films, leaving little room for comedy that gives viewers a moment of respite and an authentic smile. Meanwhile, it is precisely such cinema — calmer, based on relationships, dialogue and humor close to everyday life — that is particularly sought after by many viewers. The series of comedy screenings was created in response to the signals and requests of our audience, who report the need for meetings with a film that is lighter in form and at the same time valuable and engaging. An important element of the project are also relaxation classes with elements of yoga and self-massage, which take place after the screening in the cinema hall.
A FEW WORDS FROM MARYSA KIEDROWICZ, lecturer after the session
I am a Hatha yoga and classical yoga teacher, singer, dancer and women's health educator. Yoga is a path to self-healing for me, and my mission is to support others in discovering their own limitless potential to live healthy lives. I base my practice on psychosomatic regulation through physical exercises, breathing and vocal practices. My teaching path started in 2022 with a course under the patronage of Yoga Vidya Gurukul India taught by SMU Yoga in Poland. I am currently specializing in working with chronic pelvic floor tension as part of the Yoga Therapy course. As part of our Tuesday classes at the Gdynia Film Center, I invite you to relax through breathing, yoga without a mat, elements of self-massage, as well as releasing emotions through work with your voice. I target classes to everyone, regardless of level, age and gender. During our joint practice, you can experience deep relaxation, greater freedom of breathing, as well as a reduction in tension accumulated in the body. I will teach you simple techniques to return to inner balance and a feeling of lightness in everyday life. If you feel that you need to feel your body anew and learn how to relax in everyday life, I cordially invite you!
