About the event

In this format, Berlin-based formations whose work is based on Brazilian musical traditions present themselves.

This year, it is Banda Furiosa, known primarily for her long-standing presence in the Carnival of Cultures, Dudu Tucci's project Afoxé Berlin and the hosts Terra Brasilis.

Samba Made in Berlin is complemented by Faces Ocultas, a contemporary dance company from Brazil. She will be presenting herself here for the first time in Germany.

Saturday, November 7 20:00 Dudu Tuccis Afoxé BerlinTerra Brasilis

Dudu Tucci, percussion master and pioneer of Afro

Brazilian rhythms in Europe, presents a pure percussion repertoire with his band Afoxé Berlin and guests.

Afoxé Berlin, Dudu Tucci and guests bring Afro-Brazilian rhythm culture from Salvador da Bahia to the stage. With compositions by Dudu Tucci, they combine traditional grooves, powerful percussion and contemporary arrangements to create a thrilling concert experience.

Dudu Tucci accepted a concert invitation to JazzFest Berlin over 40 years ago. Since then, he has lived and worked in Berlin — as a musician, composer and sought-after teacher of Brazilian percussion. As a soloist and with his bands Afoxé Berlin and Brazil Power Drums, Dudu has enthralled at international festivals and concert stages at home and abroad — from Mexico to South Korea and Morocco.

Terra Brasilis & GuestsThe ufaFabrik is home to Terra Brasilis, which is located on

look back on a 38-year history. Under the direction of Manfred Spaniol, the musicians mainly play their own compositions based on Brazilian percussion grooves.

Terra Brasilis were guests at many international festivals and traveled to Europe, Japan, Hong Kong, Korea, Brazil and Cambodia. They played at numerous major and cultural events and have made a name for themselves worldwide with their diverse repertoire. Terra Brasilis' musicians have been involved in international cultural exchange projects for years.
