Samson and Delilah

The prototype of this popular opera is a single chapter in the biblical Book of Judges, one of the world's most famous love stories (or at least stories of passion) — as well as the archetypal image of a man betrayed by an immoral woman. The opera Saint- Saëns, despite its initial moderate success, eventually conquered the world. This monumental work that tells the story of a biblical hero and a seductive Philistine, whose beauty becomes his doom, returns in a spectacular production of the Met. The role of Dalila will be performed by Aigul Akhmetshina, who belongs to the group of the most interesting female artists of the young generation due to her unique talent and stage temperament. In the role of Samson Clay Hilley — an outstanding American dramatic tenor (won the recognition of critics and audiences thanks to his powerful voice and excellent diction).
