Sandra Davis — film screening

Sandra Davis is one of the most interesting representatives of the American avant-garde, associated for years with the legendary environment of the San Francisco Cinematheque. Her cinema focuses on micro-perspectives. It is intimate, sensual, founded on the experience of the body and the palpability of matter. Davis created a highly structured montage; the film was for her an organic body, a rhythmic form that could not be divided into separate parts. During the next screening of Kolektiv Ćma organized together with U—jazdowski Kino, we will present three films from the director's achievements. These are works created by Davis in the 1980s, which brilliantly reflect the evolution of her film language. From trying to capture a single experience of physicality in Maternal Filigree, to equating monumental architecture with the human body in An Architecture of Desire.
