Sarah Hakenberg

There are times when the last joke is told and all the happy melodies in the world have faded away. But fortunately, those times have not yet begun!

The singer-songwriter Sarah Hakenberg, who won the “German and Swiss Cabaret Prize,” shows that you can laugh at almost anything — even about what hurts. With sharp songs, biting lyrics and disarming charm, she transforms everyday absurdities into brilliant satire. Poor old white men who can't cope with change are just as unspared as children playing scavenger hunts at the slaughterhouse.

Sarah Hakenberg happily hits the keys, shrinks her Ukulele and talks equally about the abysses that lie dormant within us and about the big confusion out there. It may not make the world a better place, but at least it will make it more bearable. An evening full of humor and wonderful music — brazen, clever and wonderfully liberating!
