“Portrait of Youth”
Every art develops thanks to those who have the courage to seek new paths. After meetings with the great heroes of the world repertoire, the jubilee OPEN STAGE draws attention to artists who are just recording their own chapter in the history of dance.
The Choreographic Competition “My Dance” has been an important place for the presentation of new phenomena in Polish choreography for years. It is a space where young creators can confront their ideas with the audience, experiment with form and look for an individual language of movement. The final gala is a meeting with the most interesting choreographic personalities of the young generation and an opportunity to discover the directions in which the contemporary dance theater is heading.
In this year's edition, the competition's choreographies will be judged by a jury composed of: Dr. Zofia Rudnicka, Dr. Elżbieta Pańtak and Dr. Monika Myśliwiec — artists, dancers, choreographers, lecturers and experts associated with the Polish and European dance scene for years.
In the program “Portraits of Dance”, the competition becomes a portrait of energy, curiosity and creative courage. This is an evening for viewers who want to witness the birth of new ideas and get to know artists who can shape the face of Polish choreography in the future.
This is where new dance languages are born — bold, personal and ready to cross familiar boundaries.
