Author's Song Scene: Agata Rymarowicz

Agata Rymarowicz — an artist from Cracow, whose repertoire fits into the current of poetic song, sung poetry; singing author, performer of folk songs and songs inspired by culture and nature — especially from her native Bieszczady land. A graduate of the Pedagogical University in Rzeszów, she also took her first steps on the stages of student clubs. In 1986-87 she became (together with Władysław Serafin) a finalist of the Student Song Festival in Krakow, where she represented the Rzeszów academic community, and received the main prize at the National Review of Beskidz Song in Rzeszów. For many years she formed a duet with the Krakow bard Tadeusz Krok — touring and recording albums (CD Biggest Love — Biggest Grzech, CD Pogoda na reconcilenie). He currently performs with his own band and records solo albums (CD “Hej lelija — kolędy i pastorałki”, CD “Memorabilia”). In 2018, the CD “Pod eką” was released, which contains fully original works by Agata, as well as songs with lyrics by Jacek Kaczmarski, Marek Dutkiewicz, Andrzej Wierzbicki and Elżbieta Sawicka — with which the artist talks about wandering through life, about encounters on the road, about loss and returning to herself. He sings about the images hidden under the eyelids, which, as soon as we close our eyes, ignite thoughts and evoke memories. These are songs with the Bieszczady Mountains in the background, with their beauty, magic and history, the memory of the family home, songs smelling of poplars. The climate of the Bieszczady Mountains is also evoked by ancient Rusyn songs. The next album is the CD “Bieszczady Meetings” from 2024 — recording of the concert, which took place at the Polish Radio Rzeszów. The album reflects the mood and energy of Agata's concert meetings with lovers of Bieszczady hiking.

Agatha's poignant singing, lyrics, musical arrangements introduce listeners to the atmosphere of the Land of Gentleness. The December program will also feature exceptional — author's and Russian pastorals.
