Science of the Natural History Museum Tour

Nothing is more important to us than protecting the planet and encouraging others to do the same.

Join us on this tour to discover the work we do, from advocacy and outreach to identifying new species and protecting the collections we care for.

What can we do to secure a more positive future for nature and people? What impact does history have on science? Why is digitisation important? These questions and more reveal the groundbreaking work our scientists carry out every day here and in the field.

Not only are we a historic building with iconic collections, we’re also a living building at the forefront of scientific research that uses the latest technology. We don’t just look to the past - we look to the future too. Join our mission and explore how we’re planning to secure the future of the collections we care for, transform the study of natural history and take steps to become a sustainable organisation.

What’s new? This tour now includes highlights from our new Fixing Our Broken Planet gallery. It’ll offer you a deeper understanding of the environmental challenges we face and the actions we can take. With insight from a knowledgeable guide, you’ll gain a unique perspective on this new gallery.
