Produced by Natalie Portman with Félix de Givry and Sophie Mas, the film tells the story of a 10-year-old boy from the future who accidentally moves to the distant, almost idyllic year of 2075, where he meets Iris, a girl growing up in a technological world. An extraordinary friendship is born between the children, full of curiosity, gentle humor and mutual admiration for the otherness of their worlds. It is also an animation full of hope: if the inhabitants of the future have learned to live with nature instead of trying to subdue it, maybe not everything is lost yet?
Bienvenu, a French cartoonist and comic book creator, builds his world from hand-drawn frames, pastel colors and retrofuturistic visions, evoking the sci-fi spirit of the pre-plastic CGI era. Arco has something of Miyazaki, something of Moebius, and something of a childish fantasy that doesn't recognize that certain things “can't be done.” Nor does the film treat young viewers as an audience that needs to be reminded every three minutes that they should laugh now.
Sensory-friendly cinema or monthly screenings aimed primarily at young viewers who do not like a lot of noise, have difficulty sitting still for a long time or are visually sensitive.
Sensitive content: a vision of a future affected by climate disasters.
The film is available with audio description in the Cinema Available 2.0 application. Download the app at kinodostepne.pl
