About the event

Sebastian Krumbiegel is one of the most famous German musicians. With the “Princes”, he effortlessly fills arenas and halls; he is the author and performer of countless hits. But away from the big stages, there is another Sebastian Krumbiegel: The chansonier, the pianist, the soloist. In concert, he presents his new album and well-known songs.

As a small boy, I sang songs to people in church in the Thomanerchor. My teacher was Johann Sebastian Bach Mostly it was about Jesus (Hallelujah)

KOMPASS, the new album by prince frontman Sebastian Krumbiegel, is once again not about Jesus. For example, about Elon Musk's tax return, The Little Prince, that 2+2= 5, why you shouldn't be afraid and would rather dream of a better world, and it's about music. For more music. Speaking of which: Sebastian Krumbiegel played almost 70 gigs in the last 12 months and wrote almost 70 songs in the same period of time.

He put the songs through their paces, rearranged, rejected, created. The result: His new album KOMPASS. As you can see, Sebastian Krumbiegel loves writing songs and playing live. And he not only loves to entertain his audience before, during and after performances, but also to talk to their audience. And little by little, it became apparent in his conversations that this very audience wanted positive songs in our difficult times.

Seen in this light, the highly appreciated audience was KOMPASS for the song selection for the present album. KOMPASS contains 14 songs in which the glass is basically half full, the grass is basically green and the light at the end of the tunnel is basically not from an oncoming locomotive. Krumbiegel himself, as he says, was not in the mood for sad songs either. However, anyone who now thinks that the artist is drifting off into shallow areas is mistaken: Krumbiegel succeeds, like few others, in the balancing act between entertainment and reflection, between criticism and optimism. Sebastian Krumbiegel is someone who believes.

He believes in the power of art, in the possibility of change for the better, and his songs are precisely about this belief. It reminds us not to forget the dream of another, more harmonious world. And he can do that without kitsch. But with humor, lots of humor. Musically, KOMPASS is also an optimistic album, an optimistic album, but without eyewash.
