Two of the greatest figures in Danish music history are reviving their iconic collaboration. Under the title The times change, Sebastian and Lis Sørensen will visit the Concert Hall in 2027.

About the event

By 1979 Sebastian was an established star with several critically acclaimed albums behind him. When he was going to record his Bertolt Brecht interpretations on the album The times are changing, he invited a newer voice into the studio: Lis Sørensen from the style-making Shit & Chanel.

It laid the seeds for one of the most beloved collaborations in Danish music. Lis Sørensen didn't just weave her dreamy vocals into Sebastian's songs as a choir, she became a regular member of Sebastian Band and got her own songs - not least Stille before storm from Star to Dust.

In 2027, the collaboration takes on new life when the two soloists take to the stage together for the first time since the 1980s.

“Time has passed and it is important for us to tie a bow. It means a lot to us to stand there together, and I think it also means a lot to the audience,” says Lis Sørensen, remembering the beginning of her collaboration with Sebastian:

“For me, it meant getting access to a type of songs I'd never sung before. I came from Shit & Chanel, where we did songs in real time. Sebastian opened up to an adventurous universe both wordwise and in his way of composing and arranging. Nobody wrote songs like him” says Lis Sørensen, while Sebastian says of her:

“She made a huge profit. She can step into and read songs and add a majestic grandeur. So a familiarity quickly developed between us and we came to mean a lot to each other.” The upcoming concert will be titled The Times Changes — a nod both to the origins of their collaboration and to the years that have passed.
