Luk Perceval, director of 3SIÓSTR i One Long Day, returned to the stage of the National Old Theatre in Kraków, preparing an adaptation of the monumental series of novels Les Rougon‑Macquart by Emile Zola, one of France's most famous writers. The author described in 20 volumes the fate of one fictional family of Rougon‑Macquarts, making the protagonists businessmen, freight forwarders, revolutionaries, prostitutes, miners and doctors. About the event
The mad cry of Małgorzata Zawadzka and the whisper of Anna Dymna, the unbridled energy of Aleksandra Nowosadko, the passionate Ewa Kaim and the ethereality of Magda Grąziowska, Krzysztof Zawadzki filling the space of the stage with himself and the withdrawn Roman Gancarczyk playing somewhere on the proscenium. The actors complement each other by playing roles, they are one character, just another, once a woman, then a man. And the jointly sung song “Formidable” has a power much greater than the sung solo songs (some could boldly compete with the original).
Anna Piątkowska, “Dziennik Polski”
The performance is co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
