Juliusz Machulski's “Sex Mission” is one of the most recognizable Polish film stories. Maks and Albert, after years of hibernation, wake up in a world inhabited exclusively by women. Their attempt to find themselves in this new order becomes the starting point for a story about the relationship between people, power, freedom and a changing society.
In the stage production directed by Paweł Szkotak, the well-known title meets the possibilities of contemporary theatre. In addition to acting, multimedia visualizations, choreography and live Polish rock hits in new arrangements play an important role.
The fates of Max and Albert are well known, but their encounter with an unknown world can still lead to other readings. The transfer of “Seksmisja” to the stage opens up another opportunity to meet a story that has been permanently inscribed in the history of Polish cinema.
