Set design Visual composition: design workshops for adults

How to translate a story, smell or touch into a three-dimensional image? We invite you to a scenographic workshop inspired by the exhibition “Polish design. Biography of the subject/Biography of the designer”.

The starting point for the activities will be seemingly ordinary objects of everyday use and personal stories handed down by seniors. During the class we will look at objects from the perspective of ready-made art and set design. We will experiment with composition and a variety of textures and materials that stimulate the senses - from old glass, textiles, to the smell of coffee and spices. Participants will create their own unique visual stories, and the culmination of the process will be the immortalization of the composition in photography. Each of the participants/check will make and take with them a commemorative imprint from the instant camera (Instax), and the resulting works will be submitted to a digital story published on the Gallery.The classes will be led by Daniel Kopec.

Daniel KopečGraphic artist, with a professional title obtained in 2022, who already at the age of 21 had the opportunity to work in PAGODE STUDIO on animation for Dawid Podsiadło and Dawid Kwiatkowski. He conducts original graphic workshops on linocut, dry needle and silkscreen printing. On May 19, 2023, at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, at the night of museums, he gave a lecture on the visual form of hip-hop entitled “Drip”. Co-organizer of the Art Salon and the exhibition at the Open Art ASP in 2024. Coordinator of the International Graphic Fair in Krakow. Entrepreneur and content creator. Organizer of many author's exhibitions in cooperation with the City of Kraków and the Kraków Library. He cooperates with SMTG in Cracow, ASP Career Office, Bunkrem Sztuki. Distinguished at the Rempex Art Show and Auction in Warsaw. Scholarship holder of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, the Minister of Science and Education and the Rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków. Author of essays and critical texts about art published in the Literary Sketch Book.
