Sherlock Jr. + short film

Buster works as a film operator, but dreams of becoming a famous master detective. He falls in love with a beautiful girl to whom he presents a box of chocolates and a ring, but another suitor steals a precious watch from the girl's parents, and Buster is accused of the theft. In one haunting scene, the heartbroken hero (who in reality has fallen asleep next to the cinema machine) invades the film he is about to show and is exposed to life-threatening dangers and obstacles. The sequence is astonishingly accurate in its depiction of the interaction between the 'reality' of the film and the imagination of the audience.

A film critic can't keep his mouth shut during a Cannes film screening. This turns out to have fatal consequences for him, as his sideman, played by Lars von Trier himself, would very much like to be allowed to watch the film in peace...
