About the event

Another concert in the Nowohuckie Cultural Center as part of the SIESTA cycle on the road. This time on the NCK stage we will move to Lisbon.

Some musical encounters seem to have been saved before. As if from the beginning they were waiting for the right moment, place and common sound. Lisbon has long held a special place in the history of Siesta. A city of light, melancholy and encounters where music can say more than words.

Ola Jas and Luiz Caracol: Lisbon Connection. Concert of artists united by unique musical intuition, common sensitivity and fascination with Portuguese and African sounds.Album recorded with Joao de Souza. Duet with Marco Oliveira. Unmatched interpretation of Samba after the loss of Baden Powell. Participation in the great siesta galas of the Festival: Bridge of Melancholy and Totally Bossa. There is no doubt that Ola Jas, a young songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, has a special affection for Lisbon and Luzophonic music. In the White City on the Tag, Ola meets a phenomenal, versatile artist. Rhythm Demon. Creator of instantly recognizable songs. The closest musical partner of the unforgettable Sara Tavares.

Ola and Luiz Caracol understand each other from the first sound together. They record one of Luiz's old hits — Sai (Go) and immediately delightfully stir in the minds of sensual music enthusiasts who ask for more. Ola composes the song Connected for Luiz — and after it it becomes clear that this is “the beginning of a beautiful friendship” and the couple have a fascinating musical journey ahead of them. In Lisbon, too, from musicians of many cultures, a band is formed that takes the bold ideas of both leaders without difficulty into a happy future.
