About the event

Have any of you seen “The Single Woman”? Now, a few years after you met Alice — a stage singer, struggling in the traps of a lonely existence — we are pleased to invite you to the Theatre to present her further fate.

Several years have passed and great changes have occurred. Alice is currently married and the mother of year-old twins. Actually, I would like to add “and they lived happily ever after”, but... but... the artist will always eventually start to get hungry for the stage and the opportunity to fulfill her dreams. Especially when he chronically does not get enough sleep and is stuck in a whirlwind of everyday small events, somewhere between diapers and mashed soups. As if that were not enough - relationships with the dream man leave a lot to be desired.

“Someone once said that having a baby is like throwing a grenade between two people who love each other. Twins — what? Trottle beam or anti-tank mine? Or panzerfaust? Clever! “Alice would very much like to return to her old world, which she longs for. The confrontation between the singer and the Polish mother seems inevitable.

“To make it clear. I know that a lot has changed with me (sorry — with us), but I'm not going to fold my wings and I'm going to fly again. To where? Damn it and even higher! I will prove to everyone that I am not just open to a dairy, a distributor of maternal protein, or a rewinding machine.” What will come of it? How will Alice cope with herself and her beloved family?

We can only reveal that meeting a former single woman will be full of moving twists and turns. See if Alice finds out: how to survive with her husband and children and not go completely crazy?!

The performance took part in the 25th National Competition for the Exhibition of Polish Contemporary Art.

The National Competition for the Exhibition of Polish Contemporary Art aims to reward the most interesting repertory research in Polish theatre, to support domestic dramaturgy in its stage productions and to popularize Polish contemporary drama. The competition is organized by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and the Zbigniew Raszewski Theatre Institute in Warsaw.

In the first stage of the Competition, the performances are evaluated by the Artistic Committee composed of: Dominik Gac, Andrzej Lis, Henryk Mazurkiewicz, Piotr Morawski, Jacek Sieradzki, Sandra Szwarc and Zuzanna Berendt.
