England around 1800: After the death of their father, the two sisters Elinor (Daisy Edgar-Jones, The Song of Crayfish) and Marianne Dashwood (Esmé Creed-Miles, Sandman) have to leave home and face an uncertain future. The level-headed Elinor keeps her feelings for Edward Ferrars (George MacKay, 1917) secret, as a joint future appears hopeless due to social and family obstacles. The younger Marianne, on the other hand, openly follows her heart and falls head over heels in love with the charismatic John Willoughby (Frank Dillane, Urchin). Between hope, disappointment and the constraints of their time, both sisters must find their own path and recognize that neither cool reason nor passionate feelings alone lead to happiness.

Universal Pictures and Working Title present an irresistible reinterpretation of Jane Austen's famous masterpiece with SENSE AND SENSUALITY. In this sensitive historical drama, director Georgia Oakley (Blue Jean) tells a charming, sophisticated and extremely moving story about love, social conventions and sisterly solidarity. Other roles include Caitríona Balfe (Belfast), BAFTA winner Fiona Shaw (Killing Eve), Stacy Martin (The Brutalist) and Tom Brooke (The Crown).

SENSE AND SENSIBILITY marks Diana Reid's debut as a screenwriter. The film was produced by Tim Bevan (Les Misérables, Elizabeth) and Eric Fellner (The Darkest Hour, Pride and Prejudice), who run Working Title together. The production company has produced more than 130 films so far, which have grossed over 9 billion US dollars worldwide. Working Title films have so far been nominated ten times for the Oscar® in the “Best Film” category and have won a total of 15 Oscars®. There are also 41 BAFTA® awards, 16 Golden Globes and numerous other renowned awards. India Flint (Yesterday) and Jo Wallett (Bridget Jones — Verrückt nach ihm) also worked as producers.
