About the WorkshopThe writing workshop is going to be about (out) erasure as a literary and governmental power grab. With a theoretical basis in Solmaz Sharif's essay “Erasure: The Near Transitive Properties of the Political and Poetical”, we will examine textual material for subject positions - that is, what frames and spaces we as readers are put in. The question becomes: Is it possible to break the framework in which positions of power frame us? Can black beams, the palimpsest stone save us from the violence? What ghosts remain?
Everyone is welcome, regardless of writing experience.
Please note: The workshop will be based on English-language texts.
