Together with translator and author Caroline Albertine Minor, we are going to work on the inquiry — this more or less voluntary listening “you”. Who is that? How is it constructed and animated, and what does it do about and in the text?

About the event

About the Workshop We have to work with the inquiry — this more or less voluntary listening “you”. Who is that? How is it constructed and animated, and what does it do about and in the text? We must work with the addressed and devotional text written on the border between letter, poem and record, and we must ask ourselves. whether a portrait is not at best an elegant trick theft, at worst a predatory murder? Referring to Iris Murdoch's concept of attention as a moral issue, we need to ask ourselves whether you can even see what you think you love. Based on authors such as Frank O'Hara, Sebastian Nathan, Edith Södergran, Forough Farrokhzad, James Schuyler and Patricia Cavalli, we must write texts in the field between the intimate and the ecstatic.

About CarolineCaroline Albertine Minor is a Danish fiction translator and author. Born in Copenhagen in 1988, she has attended the School of Authors and has since studied Anthropology at the University of Copenhagen. She made her debut with the novel Pura vida in 2013. Her second book, the short story collection Envelopments, was published four years later in 2017. It won, among others, the Strunge Prize and the P.O. Enquist Prize and, like her third book, The Shield of the Lobster (2020), has been sold for publication in a number of countries. In 2024 she published her first collection of poems Nivå Bugt Strandenge, and at the beginning of June this year the novel Den in love was published. The novel is a kaleidoscopic examination of a ten-year long, amicable, intellectual and erotic relationship which, at the novel's beginning, has just ended. It is a novel about fictions and ecstasy. About cleaning, writing and power — both the artist's and the mouse's.

From the entrance you can find Othello as follows: follow the wall on your right hand through the library room itself and turn around the first corner. Othello is located as a side room to the library room, but can easily be seen if you continue to follow the right wall.

Writing WorkshopsEvery month, Copenhagen Libraries invites you to writing workshops all over the city. The themes and trainers vary. Our writing workshops are not workshops, but stand-alone workshops of two hours in which lecturers give presentations and give participants writing exercises.
