When writing fiction, it is important to make yourself clear which main and bi-characters your story contains and what it sounds like when they speak. In the workshop, we work with different methods to develop and get to know our characters, both their background and prehistory, their most crippling fears, greatest forces and worst secrets. We also look at what dialogue looks like in writing and let the characters talk to each other.
About the teacher:Christina Englund is an author and in her writing delves deep into the human psyche, dealing with pain points such as anxiety, loneliness, loss, death and mental illness. With her wordless, fragmentary and at the same time poetic style, she pokes holes in the facades and draws the reader in where it hurts the most.
She made her debut in 1992 with the short story collection “Without really sleeping”. And has since written the novels “Slugt”, which was nominated for the DR Novel Prize and most recently “Den sol”.
Christina Englund has many years of experience teaching the art of writing.
