About the WorkshopAt this comics workshop, we're going to work on how time works in comics.
Because in comics, time works differently than in other formats. In movies, for example, you show one image at a time, while in comics you have the opportunity to create a visual narrative where time is more elastic. Because on a comic page you show multiple times at once.
So what happens in the white space between the pictures? And how to raise and lower the speed of narration.
In addition, we work with changing points of view and talk about how to change the tone of the narrative by alternating between seeing the characters from the outside and seeing the world through the characters' eyes.
All participants will be helped to develop and visualize their own ideas and to draw a short cartoon. You can participate even if you are not trained in drawing.
About the educator Simon Bukhave has worked as an illustrator for over 20 years, and has illustrated over 70 books for children and young people, as well as written and illustrated comics for all age groups.
