Box without box

At first glance, nothing happens in Rybolty: a country road, two carpentry workshops and an old sign with the mysterious letter “C”. Yet beneath this serene surface lies a tale of love, betrayal, violence, and misunderstood justice.

The show, inspired by Wiesław Dymny's prose and maintained in a tone of black humor, follows the fate of Adam — a visitor who, wanting to order an ordinary box, falls into the middle of a local mystery. Half-words, rumors and understatements lead him to the story of Old Hrapek, his wife Zuza, Fortecki and Młody — heroes embroiled in a drama that can no longer be stopped.

“A Box Without a Box” is an intelligent, funny and at the same time bitter spectacle that draws the viewer in like a good story heard at a country table. Because sometimes a simple box is enough to discover what was supposed to remain hidden forever.
