“Fiddler on the Roof” is one of the most famous musicals, the plot of which was based on the prose of the Yiddish writer Sholem Aleichem. Set in the realities of tsarist Russia from a century ago, it shows the daily life of the inhabitants of Anatevka — both Jews and Gentiles. The main characters are the milkman Tevje, his wife Golda and their young daughters. But in “Fiddler on the Roof”, as the milkman himself says at the beginning, there are others. The song “If I Were Rich”, one of the most recognizable all over the world, is the flagship song of the show. No less beautiful and touching are “It's dawn, it's night”, “My flower”, or the final “Anatevka”.
About the event
The premiere of the Lublin play “Violin...” directed by Zbigniew Czeski took place on the stage of the legendary Kolejarz Cultural House in 1994. The same (and yet a little different...), enjoying great popularity among the audience, can still be seen on our stage.
