We present to you a story about how you can build a beautiful friendship despite the obvious differences. But how to cope with the change and get used to new situations? Perhaps it is necessary to open up to the other being and change the perspective that has grown in us so strongly?
Who doesn't like their little daily rituals? Who does not have small habits permanently inscribed in the rhythm of the day? And what if someone else, quite suddenly, takes our favorite burner on a gas stove or takes without question a mug from which ONLY we drink? Sometimes our perfectly organized world needs to be redesigned.
Life, after all, can surprise anyone. The heroes of Amy Timberlake's book “Skunks and Badgers”, on the basis of which Igor Gorzkovsky's play was created, know best about this.
Youngest viewers will find out if the sharing of a house by a quiet Badger and an extroverted Skunks can become a chance for a completely unexpected relationship. “Skunks and Badgers” was named “Best Children's Book of 2020" by Kirkus Reviews magazine. The premiere on the Liliput Stage is a co-production of the Guliwer Theater with the Soho Theater.

Anna Czajkowska — Eternally True — “I cook, and you clean!”
Who appreciates humorous, wise and funny stories about small animals, will surely like the heroes of the book by Amy Timberlake, an American author of children's songs. Just like Igor Gorzkowski, the director of the play addressed to a young audience under the title “Skunks and Badgers”. Gorzkowski has long remained one of my favorite directors, attracting with intimate, tasteful theater, emotionally and sensually engaging the viewer. Under a mask, a metaphor, he can hide very real stories about people, their vicissitudes and problems. His stage world is often filled with unusual poetics, with a characteristic, elusive fabulousness, a touch of melancholy and even sadness, which in performances for the little ones breaks with wit. Another performance for the children of this artist is as intriguing as the previous ones — he realized, among others, “Arabela” at the Andersen Theater in Lublin and “Valley of the Moomins in November” at the KOŁO Theater Studio. Gorzkowski explains, by the way, why this and not another fairy tale inspired him to creative work: “the choice of the book itself was mine, but I came across it while reading with my sons.” Nothing is accidental in his adaptations, and the richness of various theatrical forms creates a world built of associations.
