We invite you to a meeting from the series “Famous Forgotten”. This time we will talk about someone who in the days of the Free City of Gdańsk was a famous artist.
Numerous exhibitions, press articles, prestigious scholarship in Rome, commissions from important institutions, such as the hotel “Danziger Hof” — these are just a part of the artist's portfolio.
In post-war Gdansk, he had neither the right nor the opportunity to exist. Almost everything he created is gone — probably irretrievably. Fortunately, a bas-relief located on the facade of one of the buildings in Wrzeszcz survived. Do you already know who it is? No? Well, that's right. So come, we are waiting 🙂
Aleksandra Bejowicz — Polish writer, geedanist, art historian in spe — will talk about our hero. At the University of Gdańsk he writes a work dedicated to the aforementioned artist.
The meeting will be led by Weronika Uziak — leader, Gedanist.
We invite you together with the Lech Bądkowski Self-Government Foundation. The project is co-financed by the City of Gdańsk.
