When the family begins to worry about the welfare of their mother living in a nursing home, private detective Romulo hires 83-year-old Sergio. The man becomes the new pensioner of the institution and an undercover informant. Over time, it becomes increasingly difficult for him to reconcile the task entrusted to him with the growing involvement in the life and problems of the residents of the nursing home.
