The word I give | Michał Zabłocki sings about Anna Szalapak

Before the song goes to the performer, the author sings it to himself “quietly, in great silence.” Michał Zabłocki, the author of songs from the repertoire of many stars of the Polish stage, will talk about the creation of the lyrics and sing them as they went through his head. She will also share snapshots from her long-term collaboration with Anna Sałapak, who found an unexpected finale almost a decade after the departure of the White Angel of the Cellar pod Baranami.

A word from the host about himself:

I have written more than 500 songs to date, which are sung by many artists. I published 11 collections of poems. I was a poet, songwriter, book publisher, music clip producer, director of advertising films, animator of literary life, founded Discussion Clubs, project Poems on the walls, which has been operating since 2002, a large poetry portal Emultipoetry.eu, which has been operating since 2010. I founded the still outgoing literary quarterly “Czas Literatury” and even a sports saber section at the Cracovia 1906 club, which I still run. There was a little going on.

But I still lacked one, even though I didn't realize it at all. In 2023, I personally went on stage for the first time and personally recorded the first song. And I started a whole new chapter in my life. Who knows if not the most important. I thank Janek Rostworowski, who provoked me by writing music for the collection Our Father, 33 poems about my dad. I had to perform very personal songs in person.

In the same year, in 2023, I decided to independently present material from the musical Janowska. Alina's sons, which was prepared in the Entertainment Theater just before the pandemic. I toured with him in many cities, gaining stage experience, and in 2024 I prepared in Piwnica pod Baranami a satirical program Polska Superstar with songs to which I wrote not only words, but also music.

On 30 May 2024, Czesław Mozil and Czesław Mozil received the audience award for their performance of the song Ławeczka in the premiere concert of the 61st Polish Song Festival in Opole. Therefore, already in the autumn of 2024, the first album and the next concert program of Zabłocki Osobiście appeared. It consisted of 10 songs with my lyrics and music, performed in a duet with Czesław. Our cooperation began exactly 20 years earlier, in 2004 and resulted in the album Czesław Śpiewa Debiut, released four years later, with the famous Spruce Machine and 9 other joint works. Since then, we have written about 100 songs together. In 2025 we started touring together, which we continue to do.

I'm currently touring with several shows and recording more songs and albums.
