November, or at least its first days, is invariably associated with All Saints' Day and the afterlife. In the atmosphere of illuminated cemeteries, successive generations have grown and are growing in Poland. Has it always been like this? How is the memory of the dead cultivated by the inhabitants of other parts of the world?

About the event

November, or at least its first days, is invariably associated with All Saints' Day and the afterlife. In the atmosphere of illuminated cemeteries, successive generations have grown and are growing in Poland. Has it always been like this? How is the memory of the dead cultivated by the inhabitants of other parts of the world?

With more than 100 years and more than 85,000 objects, the collection of the Ethnographic Museum in Krakow provides evidence that mourning can be experienced in different ways, and that images of death can serve not only to evoke reflections on final matters, but also... carnival fun.

We invite you to a show of unique and everyday unpresented objects. MEK curators and curators will introduce you to the secrets of this unique exhibition, which will only be open for one evening.
