Soane Late: A Georgian Christmas

Enjoy a festive Late to celebrate this merry season! Explore the wonders of the Museum by candlelight while enjoying a complimentary mince pie and glass of prosecco.

This December, warm up in Sir John Soane's Museum as we go back in time to celebrate a Georgian Christmas for our final Soane Late of 2026. The night will feature a display in our historic kitchen on Soane’s housekeeper Mrs. Conduitt's Georgian winter recipes, and more. The whole Museum is yours to explore as you wander corridors lined by Sir John Soane’s sculptures, paintings and treasures, to the accompaniment of a classic repertoire of tunes by our choir.

We encourage photography at these events. The Museum is at its most awe-inspiring after dark as its vast collections are bathed in shadow and illuminated by candlelight. If you are sharing your images on social media, tag @soanemuseum or @soanemuseumevents on Instagram

Admission includes a glass of white wine or prosecco and a mince pie in our Library-Dining Room where Sir John Soane would have entertained his own guests during the festive period and spent many Christmases with his family. A non-alcoholic option will also be available.

Tickets are available for arrival at 6:00pm, 6:30pm, 7:30pm, and 8:00pm. The event finishes at 9:15pm

Please note this is a ticketless event. We will operate a guest list with your name and the number of tickets you have bought on the night
