About the event

The theme of the issue is the State of the Nation, which refers to the diverse experiences of non-belonging. This edition explores the lights and shadows of an intermediate state of suspense: displacement and migration, dubious prospects for the future of war, and the desire for forms of political subjectivity that are not based on national divisions.

The meeting will be opened by a screening of The Chronicles of Anachoret, a short film by Maxim Svitlo and Salt Salome.

Solomiya (she/her) is an artistic collective that creates a platform for experimental publishing, curating, and research activities. Founded in Kiev in response to Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, it focuses on under-represented discourses and subjective ideas and connects cities and cultures of the world. At the heart of the collective's activities is the English-language printed magazine “Solomiya”. The collective also curates public programs and exhibitions, and produces works both of its members and in collaboration with other collectives, artistic, writing or design persons.

The meeting will be attended by Yurii Boiko
