Beyond the schemes, unconventional, inspiring - these are the terms that most often appear in the context of the description of Son Lux's work. Founded nearly twenty years ago by Ryan Lott, the project was already considered a revelation at the time of the debut of “At War with Walls & Mazes” (the title of NPR's “Best New Artist”), and the breakthrough moment in his career was the release of the third major album “Lanterns” in 2013, which included the singles “Lost It To Trying” and “Easy”.
Since the fourth album “Bones” Son Lux has been working as a trio - Lott is joined by Rafiq Bhatia and Ian Chang, who have expanded the already rich musical language of the project. Today, the group is famous for its unique compositional vision, which it easily dresses up in highly engaging pieces. In recent years, they have been nominated for an Oscar for the soundtrack to the film “Everything Everywhere at Once”, which featured guest appearances from Mitski, David Byrne and André 3000. They also created the soundtrack for Marvel's “Thunderbolts*”, and are currently preparing to release a new album.
