Sondre Lerche is performing solo around Europe for the first time in more than four years this autumn, with a stop in Copenhagen on October 14.
Sondre Lerche has always been a romantic. Whether it was the songs he wrote as a teenager for his acclaimed 2001 debut album 'Faces Down', his music for films such as Dan in Real Life, or his role as the love-hungry Christian in the Norwegian stage production of Moulin Rouge! The Musical.
In 2026, however, his view of love is marked by an element of rebellion. Lerche hinted at this new era with 'Turning Up The Heat Again', an EP released earlier this year that served as a “palette cleanser” -- a manifesto that marked the beginning of a new chapter in his releases.
Now the vision is fully unfolded in his 11th studio album, 'Acrobats' -- a collection of eight songs that commute between joy and contemplation, loss and love.
Lerche states: “There is a dissonance between the increasingly dystopian world we live in and finding beauty and peace in one's private life. It almost feels like a paradox that I am so lucky to have ended up in a life and a love that is both meaningful and real. At the same time, it feels impossible to write a love song without taking into account the indescribable things that are happening in the world. Falling in love feels more and more like an act of resistance.”
