Sopot Open Laboratories | Design workshop

Sopot Open Laboratories

A place for meetings, dialogue, exchange of experiences and workshops

We invite Sopot artists to the second meeting as part of the “Sopot Open Laboratories” process, dedicated to the support and development of the local creative community. Together we will work on possible directions of change and solutions that respond to its needs.

The starting point will be the conclusions of the first workshop and previous research. We will look at what the system of art studios in Sopot should look like: from the rules of access and use, through their openness to residents, to the forms of support needed by the local creative community.

The workshop is also the next stage of mapping the Sopot environment of the studio — existing spaces, ways of using them, relationships between artistic persons, as well as resources and needs that are worth taking into account in further activities.

The meeting will be hosted by Olga Jankowska from Goyka 3 Art Incubator.

About the project:

Sopot Open Laboratories is a project dedicated to various forms of support for visual artists in Sopot. During workshops and meetings, we will analyze and explore the needs faced by the local artistic environment.

The National Gallery of Art, the Faculty of Culture in Sopot and the Goyki 3 Art Incubator together create a map of independent art studios operating in Sopot. They are trying to take a fresh look at this diverse and vibrant environment.
