SOYKA/GROTT Orchestra — in homage to the Master

There are songs that do not lose their strength, because they carry more than a melody - memory, emotions and words that you want to return to. The concert “SOYKA/GROTT Orchestra — in homage to the Master” is a unique evening dedicated to the work of Stanisław Soyka: one of the most important artists of the Polish scene, composer, vocalist and pianist, whose achievements have been moving generations of listeners for more than four decades.

The history of the common path of Stanisław Soyka and the Grott Orchestra began in 2020. The meeting of the artist's jazz sensibility with the intimate, modern sound of the family band founded by Kama Grott-Tomaszek and Michał Grott resulted in the project Dusza. Over the following years, the artists performed together at prestigious festivals and stages, always in close contact with the public.

During the concert, Stanisław Soyka's most important compositions will be played, among them Tolerance (Na miły Bog), The Miracle of Memory or There Are Things in This World, as well as less obvious, intimate pieces from his rich repertoire. All songs will be presented in Michael Grotto's original arrangements, which bring out lyricism, jazz freedom and natural elegance.

The unique character of the evening will be emphasized by a plethora of the brightest artists who will look at the work of Stanisław Soyka from different musical perspectives. Their different sensibilities, stage experiences and ways of interpreting will bring out new shades from well-known works. Thanks to this, the artist's repertoire will sound like music that is still alive, open and inspiring for subsequent performers.

It is a concert full of good memories, but not locked exclusively in nostalgia. The Grott Orchestra together with the guests reminds that the works of Stanisław Soyka still need to sound live in front of an audience that appreciates a good song.
