We invite you to a walk, during which we will recall the history of the Partisan Cemetery created in 1945 next to the already functioning Stary and Evangelicki cemeteries. It was created as a burial place for corpses coming from the sites of guerrilla battles and the sites of German mass executions. During the PRL period, it was treated by the communist authorities as a resting place for deserving party activists and officials from the region. There are also symbolic graves of Polish victims of persecution and murder committed by the Nazis, Russians and native torturers, including a monument dedicated to the victims of German concentration camps and the Katyn Tomb.
About the event
Collection at the cemetery gate at Ściegiennego Street.
The walk will be led by Leszek Dziedzic.
