Once to Syracuse and back — that's what Paul Gompitz (Charly Hübner) dreams of. With a trip to Sicily, he wants to follow in the footsteps of the poet Johann Gottlieb Seume. There is just one problem: The year is 1982 and Paul lives in the GDR. After all attempts to get official permission to leave the country fail, Paul must plan his escape.
