SPEECHLESS takes the subject of body speech, acoustics, gesture and body in the rigor of language. Language and speech - related to rhythm, sound, intonation, breath - are here the starting point, a spontaneous composition. Can something as personal and emotional as the human voice be shown “as such” — let it tell rather than use it to tell a story? SPEECHLESS is an attempt to depict the transience of sound and movement intertwined around a dancing body. It is a double live-act: sounds are collected from movement in space, the phonosphere created live by the performer-dancer and the performer-musician. Sound processed and natural, the accumulation and loop of repetitive gesture and movement, in which the sound and visual layers compete for the viewer's attention.
