Contrary to the subtitle, it's more of a comedy. But that every good comedy comes from human drama, so Helena, the main character, is not at all laughable. Left behind by her husband, unfortunately for the younger woman, Helena therefore feels old and radically unpromising. But what are friends from?
They argue that not all cards have been dealt, that you can still take it for yourself, that each end is at the same time a beginning. Helena allows herself to be convinced and begins to fight: she goes to fitness and is looking for romance. But can simple ways really change her life permanently? Maybe you need to talk to someone who came up with this whole system of aging and transitioning?
Szymon Jachimek, the author of “Old Baby”, decided to tell this very contemporary story in the most classic of ways possible: the language of ancient tragedy. So, on stage we will see a choir, Olympus and actors who speak exclusively rhyming lines.
Amateur actors from the group “W Kaczych Butach”, directed by Magdalena Bochan-Jachimek, will play in tragic character conflicts. This is the fourth performance of this formation (after “Love of Neighbor”, “Contract for a Masterpiece” and “Superbrilliantly”) in our repertoire.
In addition to the melodies by Anna Wiosna Rogowska, the performance uses Greek music — traditional and inspired by traditional.
