Theater performance “It's good to lie”

It is a performance about which viewers write: “a great play of actors”, “a lot of laughter”, “a comedy with an important message”, “makes you think long after leaving the theater”. Reviewers emphasize that “Good Lies” brilliantly combines brilliant humor with emotional drama, and the tension between the characters grows with each passing minute. It is one of those comedies that entertains to tears and at the same time makes us reflect on trust, friendship and the secrets that we hide even from the closest ones.

Already on October 16, this theatrical hit will be seen on the stage of the Wodzisławy Cultural Center. The show will be presented twice - at 17:00 and 19:30.

“Good Lies” is a stage adaptation of the worldwide hit film by Paolo Genovese, which has conquered cinemas around the world and has seen more than a dozen international versions. The Polish play, directed by Marcin Hycnar and adapted by Bartosz Wierzbięta, brings this excellent story to the stage, preserving everything the audience loved it for — intelligent humor, excellent dialogues and surprising twists.

The starting point is the usual meeting of a group of friends. Dinner, conversations and a good atmosphere, however, quickly give way to a dangerous game. Participants agree that all incoming messages, texts and phone calls will be disclosed to everyone present from this moment on. What was supposed to be innocent fun quickly turns into an avalanche of secrets, understatements and uncomfortable truths.

Who has the most to hide? Who has lived in a lie for years? And who knows that sometimes it's better not to know everything?

The strength of the show is not only a brilliant script and perfectly constructed dialogues, but also an excellent cast. On stage we will see stars of Polish theater, film and television, among whom are, among others, Olga Bołądź, Magdalena Lamparska, Bartłomiej Topa, Przemysław Sadowski, Piotr Grabowski, Szymon Bobrowski, Anita Sokołowska, Katarzyna Kwiatkowska, Wojciech Zieliński, Marcin Perchuć, Marcin Hycnar, Jakub Wieczorek, Marta Ścieliński Karolina Michalik, Katarzyna Polewany and Agnieszka Warchulska (the cast performs interchangeably).

The following are responsible for the implementation:

adaptation: Bartosz Wierzbięta director: Marcin Hycnar set design: Wojciech Stefaniak costumes: Martyna Kander assistant director: Agata Zdziebłowska production: Katarzyna Fukacz, Damian Słonina — Tito Productions and Spectacles

If you like smart comedies that entertain, surprise and do not allow you to take your eyes off the stage, “Good lies” is a proposal that you cannot miss. It is a play about ourselves — about relationships, trust and the question that every spectator asks himself after leaving the theater: do we really want to know everything about our loved ones?
