On October 23, 2026 at 18:00 at the Oświęcim Cultural Centre, an exhibition of paintings by Beata Madaj-Lorek entitled “Sploty” will open.

The exhibition will be presented from October 22 to November 11, 2026.

Beata Madaj-Lorek is a legal advisor and a master in biology, and at the same time has been developing her passion for painting for many years. Art became for her an important space for personal expression, observation and creative search.

She began her adventure with painting in 2009, participating in drawing classes at the Auschwitz Cultural Center. The next stage of her artistic path was her education under the supervision of the renowned artist Anna Lupy-Sucha and study as part of the Weekend Academy at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice.

Since 2012, Beata Madaj-Lorek annually participates in the Sylvester Majzl Painting Plenary in Łaziska Górne. For years, she has also presented her works at outdoor poplar exhibitions, which have become an important element of her artistic activity.

He also has individual exhibitions. In 2017, at the Oświęcim Cultural Center, she presented the exhibition “Nature in watercolor”, dedicated to one of the painting techniques closest to her and the main source of inspiration. In 2025, her next solo exhibition entitled “After Hours” took place at the Mediatek in Tychy, referring to the special place that art occupies in her life alongside her professional work.

Her favorite techniques are watercolor and oil painting, but she also uses dry pastel and stained glass. The artist is not limited to one technique — she is happy to experiment, combine different means of expression and look for new creative possibilities. This need to combine and intermingle different forms was especially reflected in the works presented at the exhibition “Splices”.

He draws inspiration primarily from nature and careful observation of the surrounding world. She is fascinated by its colors, light, textures, rhythms and variability. In her works, she tries to capture not only the perceptible, but also the mood, emotions and personal associations that come into contact with the observed reality.

Her biological education undoubtedly influences the way she perceives nature — her sensitivity to its details, its diversity and its ongoing processes. In turn, the professional work of a legal adviser represents a different, more orderly area of life. Painting allows her to connect these different experiences and look at reality in an intuitive, emotional and creative way.

Beata Madaj-Lorek is a creative person, open to experiment and new solutions. In her work, the process of searching is important — discovering the relationship between color, light, matter and emotion. She constantly develops her craft, treating each painting as another experience and an opportunity to find her own way of expressing what inspires her.

The exhibition “Sploty” is a record of this artistic journey — a meeting of diverse techniques, experiences, observations and emotions. It is their interpenetration and connection that creates the individual character of the presented works.
