Let's meet at NFM — Dorota Kustrzycka-Kratochwil

Do you love music and go to concerts? Or are you just fascinated by the world of art and like to listen to interesting stories? If so, then we invite you to the special series “Let's meet at NFM”!

Every day we pass each other on the streets, ride the tram together, stand in line or sit in the waiting room. We don't know anything about each other, and we have so much in common. We decided to meet all those who want meetings and discussions dedicated to music and events organized in the National Forum of Music. We will host public figures and representatives of various professions, including: doctors, scientists, businessmen, politicians, clergy, artists and many others. They will share their passion with us and talk about their love of music!

Dorota Kustrzycka-Kratochwil is a cardiologist. She graduated from the Wrocław Medical Academy, after her studies she took a job at the Regional Specialist Hospital, and since 2003 she has been a member of the team of the Heart Disease Center 4WSK, where she currently serves as the Head of the Laboratory. Her career path from the beginning was connected not only with daily cardiac practice, but also with imaging diagnostics. Before her eyes, great progress has been made in this field and echocardiography has become a tool for making most diagnoses in structural heart diseases. Her doctoral thesis was also concerned with imaging research. Then came the time when the technique of echocardiography became indispensable also in interventional cardiology — numerous surgical procedures now require support with echocardiographic monitoring, which has become another field of realization of professional passions. For the last few years she was a member of the Board of the Echocardiography Association of the Polish Society of Cardiology, and then received the status of an expert in this field. Through active participation in cardiology conferences and congresses, he shares his experience with others.

Privately, she loves traveling — she has visited numerous interesting places on all continents except Antarctica. Music accompanies Dorota Kustrzycka-Kratochwil since childhood: there was a piano in her family house, and she herself received a basic musical education. Today she interacts with this art for relaxation and respite, looking for concerts that seem interesting to her. At NFM, he usually chooses classics or renowned performers; he also enjoys opera and ballet. However, this does not mean that he does not attend the performances of rock artists or performers of sung poetry.
