Let's meet at NFM — Katarzyna Dziewatkowska

Do you love music and go to concerts? Or are you just fascinated by the world of art and like to listen to interesting stories? If so, then we invite you to the special series “Let's meet at NFM”!

Every day we pass each other on the streets, ride the tram together, stand in line or sit in the waiting room. We don't know anything about each other, and we have so much in common. We decided to meet all those who want meetings and discussions dedicated to music and events organized in the National Forum of Music. We will host public figures and representatives of various professions, including: doctors, scientists, businessmen, politicians, clergy, artists and many others. They will share their passion with us and talk about their love of music!

Katarzyna Dziewatkowska

Composer born in 1984, singer and music theorist. In 2010 she graduated with honors from her second cycle studies in composition under Krystian Kiełb and Cezary Duchnowski (computer composition) and Zbigniew Karnecki (theatre and film composition) at the K. Lipinski Academy of Music in Wrocław. In May 2011 she completed her second cycle studies in music theory under the direction of Krystian Kiełb (diploma with honors). In 2014 she obtained the degree of Doctor of Musical Arts in the artistic discipline composition and theory of music, specialising in composition. She is currently employed as an assistant at the Faculty of Composition, Conducting, Music Theory and Music Therapy at her home university.

Works by Katarzyna Dziewatkowska were performed at, among others, the Sound Perspectives of the Screen Festival in Bydgoszcz, the 17th National Festival Stars Promote in Jelenia Góra, concerts from the series “The Sound Factory” in Wrocław, chamber concerts organized by the Wrocław Philharmonic, the Music of the Ages Festival in Duszniki-Zdroj, concerts Youth Circle of the Union of Polish Composers (accompanying the Warsaw Autumn Festival), Musica Polonica Nova and Musica Electronica Nova festivals, concerts from the series “Local for serious” in Warsaw, at the Sounds Between concert of electroacoustic music in Poznań and during the presentation of the project “Hallo Wrocław 2016!” in Görlitz.

The artist is a member of STOART, ZAICS and the Association of Polish Composers, in which she has been a member of the board of the Wrocław branch since 2015. Katarzyna Dziewiec's interests focus in particular on vocal-instrumental, liturgical, theatrical and film music. In the years 2004-2007, the artist trained in classical solo singing in the class of Bogdan Makal and entertaining singing with Marek Bałata. She has made many recordings for theatrical performances, e.g. for the Wrocław Puppet Theatre. In addition, she has made numerous premieres and recordings of works by Wrocław composers of the younger generation, including Mateusz Ryczek and Anna Porzyc. Continuing the traditions brought from his family home, he takes an active part in the cultural life of Wrocław. She also performs entertainment music — concerts in Poland (she performed at the Malta Festival in 2010, among others), USA, Canada, Germany and Lithuania. As a vocalist, she has made many recordings for Polish Television and record labels such as Universal Music Poland or MTJ.
