“We cordially invite children and young people (but not only) to the meetings of the Szczecin Go Porfirion Club! We meet every week to play it together, learn from each other and develop our skills. It is not necessary to know the rules - we will be happy to teach and explain everything from scratch. As members of the Polish Go Association, we are part of a nationwide community that promotes this fascinating game across the country.”
What exactly is it?
Go is an ancient Chinese strategy game that in Asia has a higher status than chess in Europe. In China, it is known as wéiqí, in Korea as baduk, and in Japan as igo — it is still played by millions of people.
How do you play it?
Alternately place black and white stones on a line grid board to surround as many territories as possible and intercept enemy groups. The basic rules will be explained to you in a few minutes, but the depth of the game is practically infinite - the number of possible combinations exceeds the number of atoms in the universe!
