“Encounters with Travelers” — Jordan — when the road is the destination

The Municipal Cultural Centre in Włoszakowice invites you to a unique travel meeting “Jordan — when the road is the destination” with Jolanta Suszko-Adamczewska — photographer, traveler and hatha yoga instructor. See you in the GOK Concert Hall on November 4 at 7 p.m. Admission is free.

One winter night, Jolanta Suszko-Adamczewska bought a one-way ticket to Jordan. The only plan was to reach the mysterious Petra — a city carved in the rocks centuries ago.

Thus began a nearly three-month solitary journey, during which she repeatedly returned to Petra, slept in caves, traversed mountains and gorges, met the Bedouins, worked with them and shared their daily lives — far from the beaten tourist routes.

During the meeting we will hear a story about meetings and friendships, the silence of the desert, closeness to nature and people whose lives are inextricably linked with it. There will also be stories about hiking with the donkey Kia, fulfilling dreams and the unpredictability of the road — including the unexpected episode of becoming a TikTok star in the Middle East.

The stories will be accompanied by author's photographs, which will allow you to feel the atmosphere of Jordan even more strongly and look behind the scenes of a journey made without haste, away from the popular routes.

Jolanta Suszko-Adamczewska is a photographer, traveler and hatha yoga instructor. She runs photography workshops, travel presentations and yoga trips.

Travel was her first love and it was they who led her to consciously photograph. Photography, initially a passion, became her profession seventeen years ago. In his work, he mainly deals with portrait, documentary and sensual photography. The man is always in the center of her attention.

In travel, the most important thing for her is to experience being on the go — without plans, unhurried, on her own, with a tent and close to local communities. With the camera, she traveled through Europe, Southeast Asia, North Africa and the Middle East.

We invite you to an evening full of stories, photographs and unusual meetings. Perhaps it will also be an inspiration to hit the road on your own — sometimes without a clear plan, but with an openness to what it will bring.
