Author's meeting with Agnieszka Dobkiewicz about the book “Pojowdowskie”

We invite you to a meeting with Agnieszka Dobkiewicz — writer, publicist and journalist, scholarship holder of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, president of the IDEA Foundation, which promotes the historical and cultural heritage of Lower Silesia and publisher of the Świdnica Historical Portal.

During the meeting we will talk about her book “Jewish. Inconvenient memory”, a collection of twelve reports, which are an invitation to reflect on the presence of Jewish heritage in Polish history and culture. Agnieszka Dobkiewicz's book is a journey through eighty years of complicated Polish-Jewish relations in post-war Poland. The author visits different regions of the country, discovering stories forgotten, unknown, unwanted and uncomfortable.

The meeting will be an opportunity to talk about memory, identity, heritage and responsibility for preserving history, including that which for years remained on the sidelines of the story about Poland.
