“The One Who Gives Names” is a new mystical novel by Alexander Karnauch. The main character is an icon conservator. However, for the first time it comes to him to work with an artifact like the one that was found in an old house in the north of Belarus. What is really hidden under the centuries-old layers of dust and — historical events? What we remember is ours? Which of the things we forgot was really important?

“He, what are we?” - the new writer Raman Alyaksandra Karnaha. The hero of the Galaxy is a star icon. But the Persians should be sent here with such an artifact as he, which is known in the old days of the history of Belarus. What is the Hawaiian proverb about the black plastic of the nose and — the old days? What about it, what do we remember, ours? What about that, because we forgot, was more important than ever?

Aleksandr Karnak was born in Belarus, in Nyasvizh. The university ended up with the specialty “Theoretical Physics”, sent to advertising and PR. Living in Italy in 2022. A lot of Malawian cats were sold in Belarus on jypacks, “shookas graze”. Persian Raman Alyaksandra Karnaha “Halodnyya Zemlya” won the first edition of Gedroytsya in 2026.

Aleksandr Karnauch was born in Belarus, in Nesvizh. He graduated from the university in the direction of “theoretical physics”, worked in advertising and PR. Since 2022 he has been living in Italy. He traveled a lot in little-known corners of Belarus on off-road cars, “looking for mud.” His first novel, Cold Lands, was shortlisted for the Jerzy Giedroyc Prize in 2026.
