Author's meeting with Luboš Palata. “Elbe. The Great River”

On 19 October in the Museum of Mr. Tadeusz the guest of the meeting will be Luboš Palata — Czech journalist and commentator, author of the book “The Elbe. The Great River.”

Palata worked for years for RFE/RL, BBC, Gazeta Wyborcza and Slovak SME. Since 1990, he has published thousands of articles, commentaries, reports and essays on Central Europe and its transformations.

The conversation will be devoted to the book “Elbe. The Great River”, which was published in Poland in September 2026 by the Wrocław University Publishing House, translated by Aleksander Kaczorowski. This is the first publication of the new series “Understanding Central and Eastern Europe”, initiated by the University of Wrocław and the Ossolinski National Institute.

The series introduces Polish readers to works important for the humanities related to the history, culture and identity of our neighbors.
