Author's meeting with Maciej Siembieda

Wrocław readers will meet Maciej Siembieda at a special moment for him. A few months ago, the author received an award for “Book of the Year”, in the category of historical novel, of the portal “lubimyczytac.pl” for “Gołoborze” published last year. In September of this year, another of his books, Gustav and the Talking Frog, was published. But that's not the end of this year's novelties: “Posusz” will premiere on November 30. Thus, there will certainly be no shortage of topics to talk about.

Maciej Siembieda is a respected writer and reporter. Author of texts published in “Polityka”, “Tygodnik Kulturalny” and the Parisian “Kulturze”, as well as four collections of reportages and a private book about their writing (“Reportaż po polsku”). Three-time winner of the so-called “Polish Pulitzer”, i.e. the Prize of the Association of Polish Journalists. He made his debut as a writer in 2017, within a few years becoming one of the most popular authors of sensational novels in Poland. He published 13 novels, four of which were nominated for the Grand Caliber Award. In 2023, he won this award with readers' votes for the novel “Katharsis”, and in 2025 he received simultaneously the Main Prize and the Readers' Prize of Great Caliber for “The Dove”.

Six-time finalist of the aforementioned, the largest Polish literary plebiscite “Book of the Year”, portal “lubimyczytac.pl”. He won this poll twice: with the novel “Kairos”, which was recognized (in the readers' vote) as the Book of the Year 2024. A year later, the title of Book of the Year 2025 was awarded to “Pigeons”. The same novel received the prestigious award “O! Shining” in the category of literature and a nomination for the Nike Award. Ten of Maciej Siembied's thirteen books were sold film rights.
